The Centre for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education (CAISE)
was established in February 2004, under the Faculty of Education,
The University of Hong Kong with the aim of advancing research and services in special education and of providing an infra-structure to encourage synergies in carrying out research projects in the field of special education.

The establishment of this Centre represents the University’s commitment to better and appropriate education for children and youth with special education needs. With this Centre, we anticipate to increase visibility of the field and bring together human and other resources which are currently scattered around the University and the wider community, and take the achievements and outcomes to new heights.

We also hope to maintain dialogues with the government and the community through conducting research projects and providing related seminars and consultancy services. Our ultimate goal is to be the agent and catalyst for more effective and higher quality of education for individuals with learning difficulties and/or disabling conditions.
