CERCular: No.2 of 1997
The Collected Works of Noah & Eckstein: CERC's First Electronic Book
Regular readers of CERCular will know that Max Eckstein spent a period in CERC during 1996, following which he was appointed one of our three distinguished Associate Members.
During the time that Max was with us, seeds were planted for a project which has now bloomed. This is the electronic version of a collection of papers previously published jointly by Max Eckstein and Harold Noah. It is entitled Doing Comparative Education: Three Decades of Collaboration. It can be located on our website: http://www.fe.hku.hk/cerc, and has the following contents:
Part I: Comparative Orientations
Part II: Schools in Context
Part III: Achievement, Assessment, and Evaluating Learning
Part IV: Communist Education
Part V: Educational Policy
Noah and Eckstein, together and separately, have made seminal contributions to our field. We consider it a great privilege to be able to make their work available in this way, and we encourage both young and more seasoned scholars to make use of the electronic website.
