CERCular: No.2 of 1998
M.Ed in Comparative Education
Graduates in M.Ed (Comparative Education)
Students in the first cohort of the M.Ed (Comparative Education) course have come to the end of their programme. CERC congratulates them on successful completion of the course. They studied for two years, part time, commencing in 1996.
For many participants, the dissertation, which occupied most of the second year, was the most demanding part. However, it also gave the most satisfaction. Each student can proudly point to a coherent piece of work which contains originality and substance. The dissertations have now been bound and placed in the university library. Titles are as follows:
Lau Kai Chi, Anthony
'The Cultural Contents of the Secondary Music Curricula in Hong Kong and Taiwan: A Comparative Study of Four Sets of Textbooks'
Law Hon Fai, Lawerence
'Relationships between the Nation State and Citizenship in Civic Education in Mainland China and Taiwan: A Content Analysis of Junior Secondary Textbooks'
Wong Poon Yuen Fong, Christina
'The Physical Education Curriculum in Junior Secondary Schools in Hong Kong and Guangzhou: A Comparative Study'
Lau Kwong Yip, Wallis
'A Comparative Study of Mastery Learning in Hong Kong and the USA: Grade 3 Educationally Disadvantaged Students in Mathematics'

'Teacher Education Curriculum and Social Transition: English Teacher Training in Shanghai'
