Promoting 'New Literacies' in Hong Kong Schools is a professional development and research project to enhance 'New Literacies' teaching and learning in the English language curriculum. The Project is conducted by a research team from the Faculty of Education, University of Hong Kong, sponsored by the Quality Education Fund (QEF). Seven primary schools and five secondary schools have been invited to participate in this Project. The Study examines the new literacies practice of senior primary school pupils (P4-6) and junior secondary school students (F1-3).
The 'New Literacies' Project, which runs from September 2008 to October 2011, focuses on supporting the integration of new literacies in English language education in Hong Kong primary and secondary schools.
Aims:
By the completion of the study, a DVD will be distributed to all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong to showcase innovative and exemplary new literacy classroom practices.
