The missing patient game: Overview

Description

Students participate in a role play to learn the different sorts of advice a doctor gives patients. They learn or recycle the names of common rooms in a hospital and what happens in them. They listen to a doctor giving a report of the patients she visits and fill in blanks on the doctor's notes. Then they play a board game to find a missing patient. In the game, they play the part of a doctor visiting patients in different rooms in a hospital. Through a process of elimination, they work out who and where the missing patient is, what ailment he/she has and what treatment the doctor has recommended. Finally, they write up their notes about the patients.
