Call for Papers
We welcome proposals for paper presentations, colloquia and posters discussing research in relation to any areas that fit within the theme of the Conference: "Language Issues in English-medium Universities: A Global Concern".
Deadline for submission of abstract proposals: 31 January 2008
Types of sessions
- Individual papers: 20 minutes for the presentation, 20 minutes for questions
(40 minutes) - Colloquia: A panel presentation/ discussion on a particular issue with 3-4 presenters, a chair and a discussant (optional) (80 minutes)
- Poster presentations (including a 5 minute oral presentation): The size of a poster display board is 6 ft high and 3 ft wide
Format of abstract proposal (Individual paper, Colloquia or Poster)
- Title in bold
- Text 300 words maximum (including the title and references)
- Single-spaced, justified, Times New Roman 12
- For colloquia, please submit names and affiliations of the presenters, the chair and the discussant (optional)
- Please put name, affiliation, address, telephone and email on a separate page
Guidelines for abstract submission
Please send an abstract of your presentation to Miss Scarlet Poon (scarletws@hku.hk) as an email attachment with the subject “Language Issues Conference 2008- Abstract Proposal”
Note:
- All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously
- Each individual paper, poster and colloquia is rated by at least two reviewers from the Organizing Committee
