We use relating
clauses to link the topic with
a noun group or adjective group description. Usually the relating clauses use the relating verbs be
or have:
It is a small, black, long-haired lap dog with one white paw.
He is furry and chubby.
When we describe people and things, we often describe what
they possess. To do this, we usually use either the relating verb have or
we add a possessive noun or possessive
adjective to a
noun group.
