Describing people and things using adjective groups
In particular descriptions adjective groups are often used to describe a topic. They are used after the relating verb be. Here are some adjective groups used to describe the topic in the sample particular descriptions. They answer the question What is the character like?:

When an adjective group is used to describe the topic, there may only be one adjective in the group:
relating clause |

adjective group | |
One of her paws is | white. |
Boris the Bat is |
fun. |
He is also | clumsy ... |
Sometimes there is more than one adjective in the group. In this case the adjectives are
joined by and:

He is | furry | and | chubby. |
Granny Gong is | short | and | plump. |
We can also add describing information after the adjective:

Sometimes we add an intensifier in front of an adjective in an adjective
group:

Granny Gong is | very healthy | and | energetic. |
