The auxiliary verb have

The auxiliary verb have is used in perfect forms, in both active and passive voice:

Dotty has finished reading - but look at the time! [active voice]
        present perfect

The cupboard had been locked by Grandpa, many years ago.
[passive voice]
                           past perfect
