The Education Policy Unit at the Faculty of Education is pleased to organize the 7th Summer Institute Programme: Higher Education for Tomorrow for higher education leaders on June 17-28, 2019 at The University of Hong Kong.

The Summer Institute is designed for aspiring and practising leaders in higher education institutions and governments. Former participants include leaders, e.g. rectors, presidents, deans and heads of departments. Through interactive workshops, sharing sessions, team work and site visits, participants gain valuable insights from success stories and case studies drawn from around the world; and explore concepts and approaches that expose them to the frontiers of higher education development. The Summer Institute also serves as an important platform for participants to network with leaders and peers from various jurisdictions.

Over the past six years, 200+ participants from 21 countries have joined the Summer Institute. Topics have included global trends in systems development and governance, and new concepts in institutional management; student learning; fundraising, networking, technologies, campus sustainability, university relations, entrepreneurship and other innovative developments. Conceptual discussions take place in parallel with practical examples and through group work.

With the diversity of the participants throughout the years, the Summer Institute has indeed proved itself a remarkable learning experience that echoes the changing landscape of higher education worldwide. It has also inspired participants to launch new ventures in their respective systems. The attached document provides some of the examples.
