Who or what is involved? | ![]() |
When talking about the things in our world, we often want to ask questions such as How many? or How much?. The answer might be an exact figure (two, a half, a pair of) or a more vague quantity (many, a few).
Basic quantity words are usually taught very early so that learners can participate in activities involving such things as:
function | example |
time | It's twelve o'clock |
date | On 15th August 2003 |
age | I'm ten years old |
family | I have one brother and two sisters. |
measurements | I'm 92 centimetres tall. |
maths | Three plus five is eight. |
shopping | It's twenty-three dollars |
