    Please check the latest timetable before attending classes since the commencement date, class start time and duration are different among courses. Updated timetable will be uploaded to the Moodle course room [_MEd_2023].

    Important: Please note that the schedule shown in the SIS only reflects the classroom reservation schedule but not actual teaching schedule. Please refer to the timetable on the Moodle course room instead.

  5. Instruction for Online Course Enrolment

    Online Course Enrolment should be completed during August 8 (Tue; 10 am) to August 14 (Mon; 4 pm) in SIS via HKU Portal (https://hkuportal.hku.hk/) excluding the suspension period.

    Please note the following:

    1. Please enrol in courses for the whole academic year of 2023-24, including Semester 1, Semester 2 and Summer Semester (if appropriate).
    2. Please check the course requirements of your respective specialism in the Student Handbook (P.5-7). Basically, students are required to complete the following courses:

      For Generalist Strand:

      • 1 compulsory core course MEDD8001 Educational Issues and Research (6 credits)
      • 7 electives (6 credits each)
      • A capstone of either MEDD8008 Research Project (12 credits) or MEDD8009 Professional Portfolio (12 credits).

      For Specialist Strand:

      • 1 compulsory core course MEDD8001 Educational Issues and Research (6 credits)
      • 4 specialist courses (6 credits each)
      • 3 electives (6 credits each)
      • A capstone of either MEDD8008 Research Project (12 credits) or MEDD8009 Professional Portfolio (12 credits)

      Please note that:
      — Full-time students will take MEDD8001 in Year 1; part-time students will take it in Year 2.
      — If you would like to choose MEDD8008 Research Project as capstone, you are required to take one elective under the category of Advanced Research Methods (ARM) courses to fulfil the prerequisite requirement.
