The senses
We often describe something in terms of the way we perceive it through our sense of touch, taste, smell, or hearing (as well as sight).
Touch
When we touch something, we react to such things as temperature, texture, etc:

damp | dry | freezing | hard |
hot | prickly | rough | sharp |
smooth | soft | warm | wet |
Taste
We often describe food and drink in terms of how they taste:

Smell
We can describe what we smell by using adjectives such as:

pungent | strong | sweet |
Hearing
The sounds we hear can be described as:
