Weather
One very common use of adjectives is for describing the weather.
For this we often use the
structure It is ... :

Note that many of the above weather adjectives are formed from nouns by adding the letter -y (sunny, cloudy, windy, foggy, hazy).
Note also that we say It is raining or It is snowing when we are talking about something that is happening at the time. If we are referring to a general situation, we say It is rainy / rainy weather; It is snowy / snowy weather.
